I wonder why and I wonder why ...Mind blogging thoughts

Haven't been blogging for a long time. However I wanted to create a blog-post or maybe seperate blog page itself for all the intriguing thoughts that sometimes come to my miniscual mind. Some cud be futuristic impossible ideas...however if someone makes the idea feasible, hope I get some royality out of it :D

Space and atmosphere - I was just wondering how the Oxygen suppy diminshes as we go up and up in the atmosphere. When does the stage/level reach when the space becomes and there is no more oxygen. And then why can't all the atmosphere (including oxygen) vanish or leak into Space :) that wud be funny ;)
OR do we (trees and nature, as we rather than producing we consume) produce enough oxygen that the rate of oxygen/atmosphere leakage+ earth consumption, is same as the production rate. OR is there a barrier which stops the leak (is that Ozone layer). Then what stops the ozone layer from leaking. Is it the gravity of earth...

no power cord for ur laptop - You have to plug in ur laptop to a power supply when the battery gets discharged. So I wonder how can we charge laptop's battery without a power cord. How can we make it wireless... We were able to make the internet/network connection wireless. Whats the possibility of using the wireless waves to charge the laptop batteries..how can we transmit energy over air waves..and how can we be sure that its concentrated and not going waste in the atmosphere .. and how can we make sure its safe, if someone thinks of using laser and infra-red as the means...

Toronto trip and Niagara

Thotaa ... yes he has come to Toronto for work, for couple of weeks. So decided to give a visit over the weekend. I flew to Detroit and from there my 2nd visit to Canada started. Taking a rental I started my 5 hour drive to Toronto at 9:20 pm. Initially I think, the Google map route on net showed route via Detroit downtown -bridge to Canada, however when I looked up on PDA Google map and it took me to Port Huron (Southern tip of Lake Huron). Luckily, unlike Vancouver trip, I didn't find traffic at international border. Three vehicles in front of me and then my turn. Answering some questions at gate, where, whom etc etc I was redirected inside for further processing. I went inside and waited for my turn as one man was ahead of me. Didn’t took long and didn't had to answer many questions (unlike at entry point), I was again on the road.

Though I had looked up weather, I was not sure how it would be. It was supposed to rain and snow. Luckily the roads were clear with no bad weather to fear (as haven't been on winter trips alone). Entering Canada your speed slows down, first its measured in KM, with 100km/hr as max speed i.e. 60m/hr and then being a new country you are careful and won't know how strict are traffic patrolling. Making steady progress it took me 5 or 5.5 hours to reach Toronto. Magnificently glittering CN tower was an awesome sight. Then I realized I had no camera with me. At this hour there were not many vehicles and the sight could be enjoyed with some peace while driving. Had no issues finding friend's place in downtown. The downtown glittered with building lights and displays. It was around 3 am going to bed.

On Friday evening we ventured to give a visit CN tower. There was no snow or rain, however it was bit slippery. Eventually we reached CN tower without taking the subway which my friend had initially thought of. The alternating Reddish, whitish-bluish tower looked amazing. I had seen Seattle tower however this lit one seemed better than Seattle one. Unfortunately we didn't have a camera to take snaps. I tried some through my phone, however phone camera was not proper. I took some video clips, not so clear though due to camera phone.

On Saturday, it was a day for Nigeria Falls. Prashant, Anil's roomy also joined us and we started around noon-ish. It was not best of the days with cloudy weather with some light drizzle. Nigeria Falls is around 1.5 hours driving distance from Toronto. Niagara in winter, well, it was not frozen. It looked amazing from Canada side as you are much nearer to it.
After viewing the falls from the top, we took 'Behind the Falls' tour. After viewing the falls from beneath, I think its a must tour. As the view point is close enough and gives a good view of Niagara falls without taking the boat tour. We could see the frozen downstream on left and on right some millions of gallons of water gushed over the top. Also that underground view point had number of windows to look through on the sides. I think in Summer they might be allowing people to go in open outside that viewpoint, which will surely be a nice experience.

After spending some time out there, we returned back to Toronto. It was almost evening to reach Toronto outskirts and then we decided to go to a Desi Vegetarian restaurant. It had a dinner buffet with lots of variety. If one just tasted each of the food items, one will soon get full and still some other item may remain un-tasted.

Back to home and then the entire night was spent watching Indian Australia one day cricket match (this is when I got time to write the blog, else it would never have happened). After few hours of sleep, here I was ready to hit the road again, back to US.

Well, the drive back was windy and at times I could barely see 100-200 feet in front of me. The road used to turn all white with snow and the visibility used to diminish as the wind used to bring snow across the path. Though I never experienced snow storm, it might be like a light snow storm...maybe not as its first time that I was experiencing.
In between there was some road accident, fortunately there was a detour created and I was back on track. Instead of original plan of taking Port Huron route, I decided to go down south on 401, directly to Detroit, thinking that going west will cause delays due to weather. Down south was much better, in fact sunny and clear. Reached Detroit checkpoint around 4:30 pm and was back in time to catch my flight.
